I’m delighted to announce that The Artezen, a new boutique hotel in lower Manhattan, opened in April with my commissioned installation in the street level window. “Levitating Discs”, composed of over 1200 pieces, is made of hand built porcelain in an array of different colors using a unique inlay process that I’ve developed over many years. Each one-of-a-kind disc is a small scale “painting” created with an broad palette of colored clays.
The Artezen is located at 24 John Street…the closest subway stop is Fulton Street. It’s become a lively area! Both the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the National Museum of the American Indian are within walking distance and the 9/11 memorial is several blocks away.
The first photo is a view of the installation from outside the hotel and the image below it is an “aerial view” closeup taken in my studio when the sculpture was being assembled.
